To protect the safety and well-being of our members, Ventio prohibits listings for items that are banned, recalled, or dangerous under applicable Cyprus and EU laws and regulations. Additionally, Ventio does not allow all items similar to those you might see listed elsewhere if they fail to meet strict safety, authorization, and compliance standards applicable in Cyprus and the EU.
What is the policy?
- Products recalled by a manufacturer, government agency, or regulatory authority in Cyprus or the EU are prohibited.
- Products where the sale is prohibited by Cyprus or EU law or regulation are not allowed.
- Products deemed to pose a health or safety hazard by any Cyprus or EU government agency or recognized authority are banned.
- Products required by law to have the CE marking or UKCA marking must have those marks to be listed and sold legally; items missing legally required markings are prohibited.
- Certain specific items, such as crib bumpers and infant inclined sleepers (subject to local safety acts and regulations), are prohibited due to well-established safety risks.
Certain categories require strict compliance with safety certifications and regulations, including but not limited to:
- Toy magnets containing small parts that can be swallowed or pose choking hazards are not allowed.
- Laser pointers must meet EU safety class limits (usually output ≤ 5mW and corresponding classes such as
1M, 2, 3A) and military, tactical, or high-powered lasers are banned.
- Smoke and carbon monoxide detectors must be from approved brands and comply with EU product safety standards. Unbranded or uncertified devices are not permitted.
- Lithium-ion batteries such as 18650 cells cannot be sold individually if hazardous, and must be pre-installed in devices as per transportation and safety regulations.
- Products with accessible button batteries, which pose ingestion hazards, are not allowed.
- Nursing pillows, cribs, child car seats, and bicycle helmets must comply with relevant EU safety standards and labeling requirements; used items in these categories are generally prohibited.
- Personal e-mobility devices (hoverboards, electric scooters, e-bikes, etc.) and their batteries and chargers must comply with UL or equivalent EU safety certifications and proper listings must include certification statements with verifiable documentation.
Activity on Ventio must follow this policy, the Ventio User Agreement, and all applicable Cyprus and EU laws. Non-compliance may result in listing removal, warnings, account restrictions, or suspension.
