Certain hazardous materials—such as carcinogens, combustibles, explosives, corrosives, ozone-depleting chemicals, poisons, radioactive substances, and any items containing or releasing these—are strictly prohibited on Ventio. We take user safety seriously and adhere to all Cyprus and EU regulations for dangerous goods.
What is the policy?
The following hazardous materials and related items are not allowed on Ventio:
- Carcinogens and toxic substances: Any substance classified for carcinogenicity, acute toxicity, or other health hazards under Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 (CLP)
- Ozone-depleting substances: Class I (CFCs, halons, carbon tetrachloride, methyl bromide, etc.) and
Class II (HCFCs) ODS under Regulation (EC) No 1005/2009
- Combustibles and explosive precursors: Black powder, caps, fuses, fireworks, ammonium nitrate, aluminum powder, thermite components, etc., regulated under Directive 2008/68/EC on inland transport of dangerous goods
- Corrosive materials: Strong acids and bases (e.g., hydrochloric, sulfuric, hydrofluoric acids; sodium hydroxide) classified as corrosive under CLP
- Dinitrophenol (DNP) and any formulations containing it
- Methylene chloride (dichloromethane) and products containing it
- Non-EU-approved refrigerants and high-GWP substitutes (e.g., certain HFCs) regulated under
Regulation (EU) No 517/2014
- Poisons and toxic agents: Any item with acute or chronic toxicity classifications under CLP
- Radioactive materials: Any source or item emitting ionizing radiation (ADR Class 7)
- Trichloroethylene and other persistent organic pollutants
- Any device or item containing or designed to release the above substances
Activity on Ventio must follow this policy, the Ventio User Agreement, and all applicable Cyprus and EU laws. Non-compliance may result in listing removal, warnings, account restrictions, or suspension.

Why does Ventio have this policy?
This policy helps protect public health, safety, and the environment by enforcing compliance with:
- CLP Regulation (EC No 1272/2008) on classification, labelling and packaging of substances and mixtures
- Directive 2008/68/EC on the inland transport of dangerous goods
- REACH Regulation (EC No 1907/2006) on registration, evaluation, authorisation and restriction of chemicals
- ODS Regulation (EC No 1005/2009) on substances that deplete the ozone layer
By banning these listings, Ventio maintains a legally compliant, safe, and responsible marketplace for everyone.
